TheMoeWay Discord Bot Privacy Policy¶
This is a required privacy policy for Discord bots in 10k+ member servers using Privileged Intents.

This Privacy Policy describes how TheMoeWay collects, uses, and protects information through its Discord bot, also known as アリス (“the Bot”).
This policy applies only to the Bot. Discord and any third-party services used by the Bot are governed by their own privacy policies.
Information We Collect¶
The Bot may collect information provided by Discord or submitted through Bot features, including:
- Discord account and server identifiers
- Usernames and display names
- Server roles and membership information
- Command inputs and information submitted to Bot features
- Learning activity, goals, quiz progress, and related community statistics
- Message content and attachments when required by a feature such as quizzes, bookmarks, or sticky messages
- Technical and configuration information needed to operate the Bot
The Bot does not collect passwords, Discord authentication credentials, payment information, or presence activity.
How We Use Information¶
We use collected information to operate and maintain the Bot, including to:
- Provide requested commands and community features
- Manage and restore server roles
- Record user-submitted learning activity and progress
- Verify quiz results and award server ranks
- Maintain bookmarks, sticky messages, and other server utilities
- Enforce feature-specific restrictions and cooldowns
- Produce statistics, leaderboards, and exports
- Maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and recover the Bot
We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or create commercial user profiles.
Message Content¶
The Bot processes message content only when required to provide a configured feature. This includes validating quiz activity and handling messages selected for bookmarking or sticky-message features.
Message content and attachments are not permanently stored in the Bot’s database. The Bot may copy selected content to another location within Discord when requested by a user or server moderator. Relevant metadata, such as message identifiers and links, may be stored where necessary to maintain a feature.
Artificial Intelligence¶
The Bot may use an artificial-intelligence service to generate Bot-authored daily conversation questions. This feature does not analyze Discord user messages or use user message content to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.
Third-Party Services¶
Some features rely on external services, including Discord and media, quiz, or content databases. Information entered into a feature may be sent to the relevant service when necessary to complete the request.
We do not share personal information with advertisers or data brokers. Information may otherwise be disclosed only:
- To service providers needed to operate the Bot
- To authorized Bot and server administrators
- When directed or requested by the affected user
- When required by law or necessary to protect users, the community, or the Bot
Third-party services process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Storage and Retention¶
Bot data is stored on systems used to operate TheMoeWay services. Backups may be maintained for service recovery and continuity.
Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the relevant feature, maintain server continuity, resolve technical or safety issues, or comply with legal obligations. Information may remain in backups for a limited period after it is removed from the live database.
Access to stored information is limited to authorized administrators responsible for operating and maintaining the Bot.
Your Choices¶
Some information can be removed directly through available Bot commands. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of information associated with your Discord account.
Removing information required by a feature may prevent that feature from continuing to work for you. For example, removing saved role information may prevent the Bot from restoring roles if you leave and rejoin the server.

Security¶
We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Children¶
The Bot is intended for users who meet Discord’s minimum age requirements and are permitted to use Discord under applicable law.
Changes to This Policy¶
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the Bot, our practices, or applicable requirements. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
